I bought an Aiwa CDC-MP3 headunit. I want to just run it w/ my stock equipment. So my question is, for those of you who have done this, specifically using the stock amp and speaker wiring....what kind of input does the stock amp use? Does it use amped or unamped signal?

Ok first off all do U have a Maxima or I30. The maxima has 3 trims of radios from factory. AM/FM/TAPE (non Amped) AM/FM/CD/Cass NON BOSE (non Amped) BOSE AM/FM/CD/Cass with Sub on rear deck. (amped) Now the Amped setup is clean until the speaker wire gets to the speaker itself. there are power wires going to the amp from the harness and supply current to the amp and make the speakers sound. Now for the I-30 or any Radio that U R unsure about. this is how U tell. Take the Factory radio out. Pick any 1 speaker in the car, and connect a 9-volt battery to it. (something from a toy car would be fine) put it to the speaker wire. if U hear a POP that means its non amped. If NO POP that mean its amped and the signal is not getting to the speaker b/c the amp is turned off. Any more questions just yell.
