Improving handling and steering for $600

For $600 what would improve my handling and steering more?

a good set of struts/shocks and springs or various bars? (RSB, FSTB, ect)

Where can i purchase these products?

subframe collars
rear anti sway bar
get mounts made by KNIGHT
front suspension parts
h-tech / struts - winter
coilovers --- summer/spring/early fall/

each time you swap suspension equals alignment

But does $600 include labor :\

another option - get a new car

If your stock struts is still in good condition, I would go with Front Sway Bar ES bushings, Sub Frame Collar, Used RSB, good tires, and allignement.

I won't do ANY lowering springs and stuff like that if your bushings are all worn out unless you just want to look cool ( lowered look ) which is a valid argument.

$600 does not include labor. I'll do that myself.

Where can i get these subframe collars and other parts? i have difficulties finding websites to buy these parts for maximas.

My goal is simply to handle better and have better steering response. My car being lower would simply be a bi-product of this goal if it were to happen

Bushings are form Energy Suspension website or Amazon, or Ebay. Other suspension components are either OEM or MOOG. Sub frame collar, search here, there is a member who sells them or you can also DIY.

Maxima is 4 door economy familiy sedan so how much better you are trying to do is depending on your reference point.

No, no, no. The Sentra, Civic, Corolla and Accent are economy family sedans. The Maxima is a sporty-luxury sedan with one of the best v6 engines of all time.

I'd just like it to be more controlled and precise

my heated steering wheel tells me its a luxury sedan

edit: Is there any drawback to doing the DIY subframe collars? seems like it would save about $80

I had a semi-local fellow do it and it looked pretty easy for him but you need to be very strong (he had to use a pipe and I think it was glued on there by loctite??)

If you are mechanically capable, go for it

You could check these out -

haven't done any research yet myself to see if any of it is worth doing but there's also a thread below this one with someone making their own braces.

Yea I saw that but he's not making them for others yet. Those ones on eBay seem a bit pricey too... $170 for a bar of metal...
