11.5 Years. Sad Day for me.
We purchased the Maxima on June 1, 2002. I still remember the day we went to the dealer and driving it on the Parkway. I remember looking over the brochures constantly back in 2002. Took us many months to make a decision and we made the right one with this car. It was almost a member of our family. I remember being on maxima.org in class. I remember some of the meets I went to and the guys who would post up. I never liked a Maxima after the 5th gen, partly because I am bias but also for other reasons. Probably because they're not a 5th gen. I remember the headlight theft era especially since I was a victim. I remember washing it in Winter.
I haven't been on this website in a while since I purchased my S2000 and subsequently other vehicles. I took our Maxima for granted the last several years. I remember all the great times driving it and hopefully the memories don't go away. I have owned several cars after and have never once been sad to see them leave. I feel like just fixing the car or leaving it parked so I can use it in the future. I know I never will though. Insurance is expensive even keeping it on liability here in our household in NJ. It has to go.
I'm just sad. It will pass.
