Has anyone experience this ?- coolant & oil mixing due to bad water pump

Was working on a 2000 maxima today that had coolant going straight into the engine. Soon as coolant is poured into the radiator it went straight down into the motor. When I drained the engine about 4-5 gallons of chocolate milkshake (coolant/oil mix) came out!! The motor was filled up to the valve cover! The owner kept pouring coolant into the radiator which eventually went into the engine. The water pump on the car was shot and leaking. These engines are strong! Runs pretty nice now.

Anyone ever experienced this due to bad water pump?

This happens because the o ring seals on the water pump have gone bad and turned hard as a rock and because of the seals can no longer separate the coolant from mixing with the oil which cause them to mix. You have to now immediately fix the water pump otherwise say goodbye to your engine.

Yea, the water pump is fixed and the engine is fine now. The owner drove the car with the bad water pump and with 5 gallons of the oil/coolant mixture for about a day. I ran it for about 20 minutes myself when it initially came in and heard all kind of rattling and knocking noises. I really have a high respect of how strong these motors are now.

headgasket gone, need a new engine, rebuild if you can afford it. Get a JY engine. It has to be more than a bad waterpump.
