opening size for stereo
opening size for stereo
I was hoping somebody could give me a measurement of the GXE (I think thats whats its commonly referred to as) Double Din stereo opening. Also, does anybody have a measurement of the opening of the Schoshe dash kit?
Thanks in advance.

I don't have the numbers you want, but I can tell you that if you don't use an adaptor when you replace the Bose head unit with an after market unit, you will have a gap on the sides. The Bose unit is wider than the standardized aftermarket units.
Thats mostly the answer I was wanting to hear. I was hoping for 7 5/8" x 4 1/2". Long story, but here it is: I bought a BOSE from an '06 Altima thinking it would be a direct fit into my Frontier. It is, but it isnt. It is a plug-n-play as far as the harnesses go, but I cant get the trim piece to fit back on. I told my girlfriend how disappointed I was because it sounded kick-***, and would've looked just as good. She aked if it would fit into my Maxima. That question made me start to think if it would fit. It appears to also be a direct mount to the OEM brackets as well. I was just toying with the idea. Didnt want to drop a ton of coin on the other double din hardware if it wasnt gonna fit. I'd really like to test fit one, but thats outta the possibilty. I dont know anybody local that would let me borrow theirs, LOL.
This is what I have:

The size is refered to as Double Din. But in the maxima there is just a little 1/8" opening with the aftermarket kits its better to get a GXE dash oe ventilator assebly to make a new radio look better plus the finish on aftermarket kits is off colored.
