Gauges Died

The other day i stopped and topped off my fuel, next day i go to start the car and i notice the fuel light is on, thinking i had a leak i looked, nothing, Then i noticed none of the gauges where working, fuel on E, temp on cold, RPM needle barely bouncing and the speedo barely hits 10mph & my milage is all scrambled........then i got a code for a speed sensor, ok no prob, my question is, will a bad sensor cause all these issues and will the go away once i replace the sensor ?

speedo and RPM are most likely related to the speed sensor, other gauges may be linked to the other gauges somehow

I suggest pulling the batt + letting it sit a hour or two and see if it comes back right.sometimes the electrical gremlins go away when there food is cut off.

Well i ordered a new VSS, ill see what happens, I still dont think a bad VSS would cause all the gauges to die suddenly.

Well today i was taking my girl to work and the headlights shut off, the radio went out, turns out the alternator died, I am wondering if that had a cause in the gauges not working properly., Got a new one coming monday. hope it fixes everything.

Turns out the alternator was fine, since it is not a self exciting alternator it relies on a signal from the cluster with the light to tell it to start charging basicly, since i had the cluster removed the alt did not go into charge mode because it was not getting the signal . put cluster back in, its fine, except my gauges still dont work.

Speed sensor not issue, its the cluster itself, There is 2 mosfets on the cluster, one went bad, need to replace it not that hard.
