So the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel don't work (everything other than cruise control)

easy fix or no?

Was your car always like that? Does it have aftermarket stereo? You might just need the adapter for the controls.

Have you checked your fuses?

Simple fix ,you more than likely have an aftermarket radio and a wire for the controls weren't grounded when installed search many threads in this

to remove the buttons, remove the driver airbag via two secret torx bit,. flip the airbag over and unscrew two philips head screws. its that easy.

sorry for the late reply.. just started my spring semester at school and haven't had a chance to really do much car stuff.
so when i bought the car the controls were already not working and its not just the radio volume that doesn't work, its all the buttons on the left side. im not good at all with electrical so i really dont even know where to start as far as finding the fuses for the controls.

A pretty basic Pioneer radio/CD player.

Because of your aftermarket deck, that is why they don't work. You have to have an integration kit for your deck on order for them to work... And if its a low end deck, you usually don't even have that option.

Werd.

The aftermarket radio doesn't play nicely with the steering wheel controls.

the radio/head unit has to have a jack that is specifically for steering wheel controls. If it does, then you could add something like this to get the controls to work.
