My 2002 SE - May She RIP

comIt was time to give up my Maxima. Bought it brand new back in March 2002. Now, almost 12 years later and 184,500 miles, it was time to sell her. I have put in alot of money repairing the vehicle over the last year or so including new motor mounts, tune up, fluids changed, new front axles and more. The engine now will not cool down and my overflow tank is draining my radiator so it was time to sell it to Carmax while I had the chance. They gave me a little less than what I expected but now I have a 2013 Toyota Corolla LE as my new commuter car since I drive 50 miles round trip to work and didn't want the Maxima to break down on me.

I have a few parts I was able to take off the Maxima before I sold it to Carmax. Once I get the parts cleaned, I will take photos and post them here for sale in the classified section.

I will still pop in from time to time. It was a blast meeting alot of so cal Maxima enthusiasts. Because of the org, I will never forget the friends I've made over the years.

Stay tuned...

From a max to a Corolla? Interesting switch...aside from the huge MPG differences, how is the Corolla from a drivability standpoint?

I'm able to purchase vehicles where I work at for a great price. I needed a good 4-cyl car with good fuel economy. I have alot to choose from and the only vehicle that worked for me is the Corolla. Not a fan of the CVT Nissan cars, Hondas and other makes we had at the time and I needed something that day. Again, all I needed is a basic commuter car.

I hope carmax was fair to you. Definitely stop back by, who knows, maybe this 2015 Maxima will cause you to come back to the dark side.

Sorry to see you leave the Maxima family. Hope you get the service from the Toyota that you want.

Getting rid of my car as well but only have 8 grand cash and I'm thinking of a old corolla or Accord or even a 4 cylinder camry.

Mines has 205k and still runs strong but it's gonna be a money pit soon.
