2000 Maxima-Power Windows or window lock Issue

I just purchased a 5th generation maxima and then figured out that the windows can only be controlled by the drivers side door controls. If someone else tries to push the button down while im controlling it, the window will stop so Im guessing there is some sort of connection just maybe the passenger doors are not connected to the driver side door motor????? Acting as if the window lock is on, however, I have tried every possible way to see if I could get them to work on their own but it doesn't work. Just wondering if this is an expensive fix or if its something I can have someone who knows about cars fix it for me cheap! The power door locks work from the front passenger side as well as drivers door. I did't notice at the time but the 2 door panels on the left are different so someone took them apart and replaced them at some point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
