Ok, to the point. I have a 01 AE that appears to be stuck in either 2nd or 3rd gear. But, I can still shift the shifter like I normally would. It will go into what feels like all gears. Sometimes with some friction, but most of the time, it feels normal, but it makes no change in the transmission. It still stays in 3rd gear. Anyone ever experience this? Thanks!

to this day I still have no explanation of to why it happened... Hopefully after reading this you might get some ideas... but the only thing I did was to push the car backwards off the ramps.

Also make sure you have a friend press the clutch while you are looking at the slave cylinder to make sure it pushes the fork all the way out...

My auto tranny did the same thing today!!! It's kind of my fault but... We had a bad ice storm last night, and when I went to pull the Maxima out of the snow ditch, I launched in 1st gear for a good 15 seconds on a cold start. Now I'm floating in 3rd gear, everywhere I go..

How do we check the tranny codes again?

No offense but you should probably open your own thread... did you even read the name of the threat??? We are talking about MANUAL transmissions here!!! And NO, you don't have the same problem because you don't have the same transmission!
