Can '00 or '01 Bose head unit go into an '03?
I'm hoping to use the auxiliary input on the earlier model Bose head units (that was used for the 6-disc changer in the trunk) to connect my iPhone. Does anyone know...
A) Will the '00-'01 unit fit (without modification) into the 2003 Maxima?
B) Will the speakers & steering wheel controls all work with the older head unit?C) Anything else I should be aware of...?

Yeah; I've considered that, but I prefer the aesthetics of factory units and I'm not keen on aftermarket steering wheel controls. Also, I was told that the Bose equipment (speakers and subwoofer) would need to be replaced if I went with an aftermarket head unit. So; if the older head unit works, it seems like an ideal solution if it's possible. Just wondering if anyone's tried it before.

At least some of the 01 cars had steering wheel controls. The 00 head units definitely will not.
But if you wanted to replace the head unit, you don't have to take out all the speakers. You get a pac rolm nis2 line adapter.
