ebrake issue

About a year ago my ebrake lever was really loose. I was living in a apt in the city and didn't have room or tools to play with it so I took it to a mechanic and he said one of my calipers I think driver side is seized and he tightened the cable . The lever was better for about a month till it got loose again. With the ebrake the car didnt move unless it was on a steep hill. Anyway out of nowhere today the lever tightened up by itself. When I pull up on the ebrake I hear what sounds like a wire slapping under the car like a whip. Only thing ive done is change 02 sensor. But instead of clipping it back where the old sensor wire is clipped in, I tie wrapped it to the old wire. In one spot I tie wrapped the new sensor wire to the old one wich was white and I accidentally without noticing till I was done also had a red wire that looked like another 02 sensor wire. But I don't think that's the problem.

Anybody know whats going on? Kinda wierd that it fixed itself. Another thing that might be related now that I think about it is loss of power.any time I punch the gas slightly Rpms jump about 500 and car is slow to accelerate .car has little power. Had a 0300 code wich I cleared a few days ago and drove about 40 miles and still no code came back.

Im gonna look at it in the morning but not to familiar with me he ebrake system as simple as it might be. Its a 02 manual.

Ok so while I was getting an oil change the guy again said I need a newcaliper. The tire didn't move freely in the air. I played with the link where ebrake cable is on and it loosened up. Is it possible to fix with out replacing the caliper? Any help here?

if your caliper is seized up, then you need a new caliper, the rear calipers are spring loaded where your emergency cable is attach to it. Likely a seized bearing or stuck pin, you're better off buying a new caliper than rebuilding it, since I rebuilt mine and by means it not an easy task, if you don't have the tools to do, since they are springs inside the piston and screw then you better off getting new caliper.
