I got cut off and I jumped a curb. My passenger side wheel cracked, the hub cracked and the axle popped out.

I don't know if this is gonna work but I put a photo bucket album up. What kind of damage do you guys see? Its dark out and I pulled the tire off and took these pics. The hub is definitely cracked, the axle popped out but Ican't tell if its damaged. Will the axle pop out like that without causing problems? After this happened I tried driving to the side and the was smoke. What do u guys think can possibly be damaged?

A lot of very obvious parts, some of which you named - the steering knuckle, the axle, the lower control arm, the wheel, the fender. Other possible things include front wheel bearing, sway bar end link, the tie rod end, frame damage and bent strut. The mark on the brake rotor might be damage, requiring replacement.

Sucks man.

Yeah it does suck.
Im still up with this thing on my mind. Is everything supposed to come off easily besides fighting the rust? Will the axle pull right out?

I had real difficulty pulling that side axle out, not from the transmission itself but the rusted support in the center... Good luck!

Spray some pb blaster and let everything soak over night
Looks like the whole hub assembly outer tie rod most likely a strut and obv a rim also get a good pry bar to help get the axle out of the tranny

Maybe a good time to consider rebuilding the front end since the one side is completely toast. New control arms, bushings, tie-end, ball-joints, axles if necessary.

I see a broken abs sensor too. Go to the junkyard and basically pull an entire knunkle assembly with the tie rod end, sway bar end link, axle, lower control arm, strut and abs sensor attached. Hopefully the yard will give you a package deal or at least miss couple things since you brought them an entire assembly. Good luck and just hope there was no frame damage.

The passenger side axle has a center support with a bearing in it. It is held in with 3 12 mm bolts that will have to be remover. The bolt heads face the driver's side and the axle will come out towards the passenger side.

But as tcb_02_max said, it could be rusted in the support. PB Blaster or something like that could be helpful.

My friend has some sorta like that kind of issue she hit the curb pretty hard when she was turning left onto 1 way street it was very tight to squeeze through. Anyway she went to a shop and they charged her with over $1,200 for axle, disc wheel, bearing wheel, and front fender on the side it quite cracked would hit the tires badly.

Wish you luck man my best bet is go to scrap shop find a parts for cheapest as possible you can get, and then have somebody who can install it for you cheap price.

Your best bet average price if you do that would be $400-600 estimated.

as said the driver side axle pulls right out, passenger side has 3 bolts a ways in that you remove then it too pulls out

i would say its best to re-do the whole front end on both sides, that or just rebuild the one side with junkyard parts

You really should have a shop or someone check it out. Things like this are not great for internet diagnosis. I'd imagine you might need a strut, mounts, hub, control arm, tie rod, etc etc etc

I replaced the steering knuckle, bearing, tie rod, lower control arm, abs sensor, axle, link, just about everything except the strut. And im still looking for a rim at a junkyard. If anyone has a 02 se alloy 17 inch in nj lemme know. When im done I'll have a shop look at it but my neighbor is a mechanic and he took a look and said its good

nice maximasicilian, if it's too late forget about it but if you can still clean and anti-sieze all bolts especially those 22mm head bolts in control arm, some on the threading of the axle shafts, and the two strut bolts. plus an alignment unless your going to do what other org's suggested and redo your other side.

CMax03, what do you mean by guessing game?

guessing game as in if theres frame damage, its not even worth fixing the other stuff. cars have come with that much damage from blowing into a curb where i work and maybe half the time they end up being written off because the bills $3000 to fix so much stuff. spindle, axle, rim, rear axle, tie rod, ball joints, control arm, caliper, rotor, etc etc etc
