Muffler Help!!! Im New.

i have an infiniti i35 2002 sitting in my garage and i am in dispute on what to do to make it sound like a beast! I have watched this youtube video 3 or 4 times and i am aiming to get a similar sound!

Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyn0Jsphgpk

I was thinking about straight pipe from the cats? How does that sound? Or i was thinking about glass pack for resinator and 3in straight pipe from that.
I think he has headers, but i am not able to afford them right now.
Please help me by leaving suggestions/problems or things that have worked out for you on your maxima/infiniti. I want my car to sound mean and loud!

Thanks!

Cameron

That video says nothing about headers, description says it has intake and straight exhaust which I assume is straight pipe but doesn't say what size and from where. Also says it has slight cam work but in the comments the dude says the car has no mods and its all cosmetic? I smell a liar in regards to that video...

Anyway it's hard to tell from the vid but to me it sounds and looks like he simply has intake/catback of some kind and the car seems stock otherwise, you can even tell by acceleration that he doesn't have any good power mods.

If you want a real violent & loud sound = get headers with 3" exhaust

If you cant afford headers for now, gut the cats and get ypipe with high flow cat and nice catback.

For exhaust I would recommend one of two things = 2.5" to 3" and go with Megan Racing or Cattman 3"

Just a megan catback alone produces quite a nice and violent sound, adding an intake will make it even louder and I think that's exactly what that dude in the video has (just intake/catback). Go with 3" exhaust if you really want loud, 2.5" for slightly more "normal" loudness.

Check this out, this is just megan catback + intake:

The more you open it up the louder it gets and the larger size of exhaust of course same thing. What gives you more of that deep tone and throaty sound over the high-pitched 4-cyl style whine is definitely doing cats/headers and ypipe.

Thanks for the info but I also found this,

"2002 Nissan Maxima VQ35, straight exhaust, dual tip blast pipes, Intake, slight cam work, tuned"

What are blast pipes?

^^^ love that Cattman. But since you want videos I went ahead and finally made one too. Revving knocked down the phone so it's not the greatest video, plus the phone audio doesn't do it no justice the thing sounds way more violent in person.

And BTW yo CMax what kind of exhaust hangers u have? I need to make my Megan hang the way your cattman does, nice and flush and raised all the way up?

Nismo and Kartboy (poly)
http://www2.kartboy.com/x4/product.p...0&bestseller=Y

If you young guys start getting tired of the loud exhaust you can always fit a 6" or 5" Magnaflow muffler where the resonator is....
