Gauge lights brighter in certain areas
Gauge lights brighter in certain areas
How to fix? I got new LED's and installed them. They're pretty dim, just a bit bluer than before. They are brighter in other areas but this problem was also present with the stock bulbs, theyre a lot more pronounced now. It looks like the bulbs are off in some areas but they arent.

welcome to hotspots!
The way to minimize them is to get better quality, brighter LEDs that have 360* directionality, or to get custom LEDs made..member "Shinjiduo" makes custom sets for that gen maxima I still believe.

I used the #74's from V-LED's (but got tired of the blue color that resulted), then tried red LED's from autoillumination or something. They were great for a little bit until one of the bulbs started having troubles staying in place and flickering out. Then my fuel gauge started doing weird things (it kept going up and down in 1/4 increments at random). So I've reverted the night illuminate parts back to stock which also got the fuel gauge to behave normal. For now I just abandon messing with the gauge cluster any more. Though I have to say the new stock bulbs make a world of difference over the old ones which had a chrome look to them and super dim.
