Back in the Maxima community

After being away since 2007 when I sold my 99.5 SE-L 5spd I am back. I just purchased a 2002 SE 6spd with 104k miles. It is fully loaded minus nav and is bone stock. I plan to do the routine long term reliability things and maybe a few mild performance mods. I will be lurking here to get ideas.

Thanks! Finally got to take a nice drive this weekend. The clutch gave out and it sat in my shop for a week. Replaced the clutch and flywheel. Has a power steering leak I have to fix now and I want to redo the entire suspension. Not sure what I want to go with on that. I want it to be firm and planted. I don't really care about being lower. It is all stock and will probably stay that way other than the suspension, audio system and window tint. The car is pretty good out of the box. Once I get it waxed and tinted I will post some pics.

Why did you decide on getting a FWD Maxima instead of something RWD like a G35/G37 etc?

Thanks

Inconceivable.

OP created this thread to share his excitement about a decision he is happy about.

Instead of you saying congratulations, you question his decision.

Go away with your "seriousness."

I don't know if you've realized this yet curious george, but this is a Maxima enthusiast site; not a why did you buy a Maxima site.

I don't mind answering that question. I chose the Maxima because I am familiar with the car. My dad purchased a 1991 brand new in June 1990 and since then he purchased several more. I myself have owned several and they are sporty and easy to maintain sedans. Is rwd better? Of course, but for a daily driver fwd isn't bad. I have owned several BMW 540i sedan as well and was considering getting another one. The Max won because it will average 22-25 mpg instead of the 14-17 that the 5er would and repairs will be much cheaper. I plan on keeping the car so total cost of ownership was important to me.
