Remote for keys broken randomly

Got off work, drove home and locked my car like any other night using my remote on my keys, the next morning I went to unlock my car and the remote was unresponsive, none of the buttons work on it and I'm not sure as to what happened, they have never had this problem before, my spare set remote didn't work either when I tried. It was quite embarrassing setting my car alarm off to say the least.

Has anyone had this problem or know what the problem is?

That doesn't make sense though, because my alarm is still working.

That's the first thing I tried actually.

Maybe both batteries are dead? Get new batteries and try reprogramming the fob if it still doesn't work.
