Airbag Recall

I received a recall letter from Nissan today about a air bag inflator that needs to be replaced in certain 2003 Nissan Maximas. Has anyone else received a recall about this? I'm sure I'll get it done, since it's free. I'm just curious if anyone else has a recall letter. The letter says NHTSA RECALL 14V-361

Wow this is crazy to come up on a 11 year old car. I also see that recall referenced this one: NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V136000

I thought the letter was about our 2010 Altima at first glance. I thought it was weird to get a recall about an 11 year old car too. I'm sure the government makes car manufacturers come forward with recalls to a point, but I'm glad Nissan owns up to them...unlike Chevy.

I got a notice awhile back for the airbags in my 2002 and my local dealership performed the labor/fix. The problem is apparently akin to getting shrapnel in the face if the airbag deploys. You'll definitely want to get it fixed.

I got the recall also. I have the air bag red light on dash since they were deployed. I had the airbags replaced without connecting them and no air bag module. I wonder what they will say if I took it like that.

i dont think this would apply to you then..
i think its similar to a warranty going out the window if a car becomes salvaged.

NO JOKE!? We had to clear a code for my air bag, though the car got hit, the bag didn't go off but, one of the wires for it or something related to to it got clipped (then reattached) could the code also been a faulty bag or just from the wire? i'm thinking the later.

Or maybe the recall is because certain bags stopped working after so many years?
