I have a 2000 maxima se 5 speed vq30dek. I want the exhaust a little louder but I like the tone it already has it sounds throaty . Everything bone stock only a Sri . Stock exhaust . I'm thinking to cut off the resonator so I can have it the same tone and keep the stock muffler but don't want it to be raspy . I don't want anything loud . What. Do you guys think ?

What do you guys think ? I domt know what a stock exhaust sound like without a resonator replaced with a glass pack I think it's called and I searched for a while and nothing helped , went through sticks also .

I'd leave it alone and just replace the tips with SS Kool Vue tips!

What I did was I straight piped my resonator and my muffler (deleted). Sounds really deep and has a nice tone. I recommend it. It's cheap, sounds good, and you won't have any check engine lights

 

Is it loud ?

 

Loud would be an understatement with that setup.
