2002 Nissan Maxima SeaFoam

Hey .org viewers! I need your help here! I have a 2002 nissan maxima with 318,000km on it. The car runs great with no issues at all. I was thinking of seafoaming it. But will it in anyway damage my engine? Or cause and problems? Also someone mentioned to me that if there is a soon to be oil leak, the leak might start after seafoaming it since the carbon was acting like a seal on it. Please let me know if i should go ahead and do it. I can like smell the carbon from the exhaust. Im planning on adding 1/3 gas tank, 1/3 oil and 1/3 brake booster. Should that be ok? Will be waiting for advice!

Cheers

Pure rice don't do it. Add a cone filter too it will give you better mpg and more power.
Then maybe get an msd. :P

I put it in all 3 in my 4th gen with 150,000 miles on it. Should be fine. Engine seems to feel a lot peppier too. I'd say use it once a year, I started to use it every other oil change but it seemed to have little to no effect (probably because I properly upkeep it) so I stopped.

In what way is seafoam pure "R.I.C.E" (race inspired cosmetic enhancement) what is cosmetic about seafoam?

But OP honestly if the car runs good, and you don't have a lot of carbon/sludge I'd just leave it alone.

Once a year is far too excessive ( especially considering that is is HIGHLY recommended to change spark plugs after doing seafoam) I doubt anyone wants to change plugs say every 20k miles.

To the OP; With that high mileage it is likely that carbon buildup is literally holding a few seals intact. Iv heard of this on countless forums iv been on. If you decide to do it, the 3 way split is ideal (crank, gas tank and brake booster)
Do it with a full tank of gas...drive thru it all. Assuming thats nearly a 300 mile range PLAN on changing your plugs after as well as an oil change. They foul up badly due to the same logic ( carbon) This procedure in conjunction with chemtool used in manifold/tb and properly cleaning your maf will liven up your ride.

In your opinion it's far too excessive. Personally I can't feel a difference with acceleration since I've changed my plugs to the 4 seafoam a I've done.

From the sounds of it all ill need to do is change the spark plugs after the seafoam. I might just go ahead and do it. Car runs great and is driven every day. Just hope it lives after. Or what im thinking is if i just put it in my oil and gas tank. Would that make a difference?

Thanks for all your replies guys!

My opinion....followed by your opinion as to how you cant feel a difference. We're all entitled to it...
Perhaps you dont know what you are missing?
The logic and facts are there (IMO)

My neighbors called the ****ing police after I seafoam my 2002 in the driveway this month. They thought the house was on fire, police gave me a warning, fire department showed up and I had a huge group of people who came to watch the show -_-".

There was SOOO MUCH white smoke (it was ridiculous, it turned the entire front of the house into this white smoke). The varying sound from my exhaust should have given them a idea that I was working on the car, so they probably did it on purpose to get me in trouble.

I haven't noticed ANY difference after this fiasco so what the **** was the point!?
