Can broken axle cause abs, traction, slip

To make a long story short I was driving to work yesterday and my abs, traction, and slip lights all illuminated at the same time. As this happened I starting hearing a grinding noise coming from the passenger rotor. I took the tire off only to find the axle nut as well as the threading had rusted out completely and snapped clean off the axle.

My question is can this cause the wheel speed sensor to go bad? If not what should I check to remedy the situation. After sitting for the day I started the car to see if the lights were still on. The abs and traction were still on however, the slip light turned off.

Thanks

What year you own?

I have a 2002 that would ABS, SLIP and TRACTION usually when raining and it turned out to be either the rear right ABS sensor or the wire.

If OP is getting a new axle, get one with the damper thingy on it.

I'm buying one today, do you have any links for one? I was looking on Ebay and Rockauto but, I'm not sure which to get.

Thanks

I can't help... My issue was broken CV boots due to being stupid and ended up going from aftermarket to original OEM axles because the car vibration was excessive with the aftermarket ones.
