What the heck was that all about???

When I started my car tonight it made some strange noises. I had some pretty loud lifter noises (clacking) for about a second...and then a dead miss for another 10 seconds. It ran fine after that. It had been sitting for about 4 days, so that might have had something to do with it. My guess is that a lifter colapsed and it took a while for the oil pressure to pump it back up. I've heard this in other cars before (with higher milage), but not in my max with only 20k miles. Should I worry?

u know......

trust me...if u live in the cold area, that's normal, since ur car sits there about 2 weeks or longer....but when it goes to summer, it's not a problem anymore, it doesn't make any weird sound if u dont touch ur car for a month

I live in Chicago. The car sat for a while before but it must have been over the summer. I just thought it was a bit wierd.

It's just a lack of oil up in your heads that make the valves a bit loud. Especially if your car sits for a period of time in cold weather. And BTW - our cars don't have lifters. We have a bucket and shim setup. Thats why there is no valve adjustment maintenance.
