you can always send it to be fixed. There is a company in California that fixes ECU's. Don't remember the name but let me see if I can find anything for you.

will have to buy used, you may also need a TCU and the key HAVE TO be reprogrammed the ECO no if and but, or any around it because it has an immobilizer.

screw the dealer. lock smiths have been known to reprogram key's chips or RFID.

EDIT: yeah you can get it repaired, http://www.ebay.com/itm/281014411783...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Don't trust them. What are the codes? If you need one the wreckers is a good place to start.

Should ask them for specific codes to be able to do a more thorough search.....or just buy a used one make sure it matches yours and have a locksmith reprogram it and be **** i mean done..if it is indeed your problem anyway...

I had a REALLY BAD personal experience with these guys, and WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM IN ANY WAY!!!!!!!! Now that's just my opinion, and it was explained in a thread I made about my IACV/ECU experience. They are based in the Carolina's. Other shops may be fine to use with a recommendation...

And how do find out it's the chip or not? Answer: pull the ECU as mentioned by other poster and take a good hard look. Or, call the shop that scanned your codes and ask them what codes they pulled; this should be included in your service records. Once you share what codes and such others can help you better. I think you'll find as myself and others have; ECU's get trashed by bad iacv's and motor mounts. Be prepared for this, and read up on the many threads on the subject on the boards (a wealth of knowledge is contained there). Good luck...

been there did that. ECU was clean as whistle no burned marks, it was even stepping down the IAC on the Verus live scanner, turns out there an issue, it was still able to function, just not correctly. when i get my pay check i'll be updating my thread.
