Seat heater pad replacement

Winter sucks, especially when you have a broken seat heater. I notice that they have some kind of universal seat heater kit on Amazon or so. Can they replace original heater pad inside our driver's seat?

Anyone did this before? need some advice. thanks.

Pretty sure switch works fine. There're 2 heater pads in our chair, right? one on back and one on rump. back one works just fine, rump one died.

remove the center console, pop the switch clips, pull out the switch and check continuity.

In that case you are right the switch is fine. Where you are losing continuity is in the heating element of the seat. Check the wiring in the seat you may find a break that you can fix. Probably easier than installing entirely new elements.

Otherwise consider a heating element from a seat at the junk yard. I think they are removable. Get the passenger side it would have less wear than the drivers side.

The universal elements usually require that you use their control switches so easier to go with OEM replacement if you can find one.
