Odd rattle from suspension
This is an odd rattle, my axle seemed to check out ok.
Here are the symptoms:
- Rattle on the left when turning right, but only under acceleration
- rattle on the left when hitting a bump but going straight
The sound really seems to be coming from the suspension it self. I would say my struts and springs have 100,000kms on them, seems firm. Could it be a strut mount?
My tie rods and ball joints are only a few years old and they are tight, no play.

I trust my mechanic as I've been going to him for 15 years. But now he has kids working for him, I admire that he honors any screw ups and doesn't charge a dime to check anything. Places now will charge $80 even if its a quick look. But I may have to get a second opinion.
You can look at this stuff yourself....by putting your car in gear, applying the E-brake and foot brake, while giving the car some modulated throttle in R and D! Even the suspension can be inspected for free by yourself....just jack it up and place on stands, get a prybar and start checking play of bushings, balljoints, swaybar, swaybar links, etc...DIYer for life!!!!
I tried this before posting, but my exhaust drowns it out in the recording.
