A/C Saga....my experiences in Wonder-Land?
Hey Buds,
About 6wks ago i changed my AC compressor (with a rebuilt one) and also the condenser. It blew out somewhat cool...but not really cold. Well i drove it for a few weeks and then it just blew warm air. No cold air at all. That was 6 wks ago.
I go the warehouse area where my Mechanic works and i see another guy (because my mechanic went out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday). The new guy checked the system by hooking up gauges to it...and both sides are at about 45. He got inside the vehicle and revs the motor and the left side gauge doesn't move. The Mechanic says that indicates that there is freon in the system but it is not moving. He concludes that the Compressor is bad.
Well, today i press my mechanic to get the **** fixed. I just got back from my mechanic and he changed out the Rebuilt Compressor with another Rebuilt and also changed the expansion value. Now, after waiting 3 days for the New Rebuilt part, and changing it out again, its still not blowing cold air (F##x).
So to date, i have changed
So now its back to the drawing Board...
Anyone know what this problem could be?
Thanks

In your first thread, I mentioned a possibility of the air mix door motor. This controls the temperature of the air coming out of the ducts. This applies to both heating and air conditioning. If this motor is bad, then you cannot regulate the temperature of the air.
If you can change/regulate the temperature of the heater, then this is not your problem.

Yes, i saw your comment. As i indicated, the Air Temp does change from "room temperature" to Hot Air, when i turn the thermostat dial to warmer....So yeah....i do get hot air and i can control it...so the heater temperature works.
BUT, Not getting cold air.
I stick the thermometer in the air vent and it comes out about 2 degrees cooler than outside (but right now the sun is not out) so I'm sure that air will change to just plain hot air when the sun comes out.
"How did the system accept the Freon", but is not blowing Cold Air (again, the freon was added to the system yesterday, after the new compressor was put in) ? ? ?
Weird....

Ok...so it looks like i fixed the AC issue.
I purchased a Reman by 4 Seasons. They got the highest Ratings for Reman's, and i sure as hell wasn't going to pay $600 bucks for a new one with the same warranty.
Keeping my figures crossed. So far the air is blowing like a ****, at 40 F.
NICE!
