Parking brake question with pictures

Hello all...I am a new owner of a 2003 Maxima GLE as of this afternoon.
On my way home...I heard a grinding sound when I decelerated (from about 30-0) and when I accelerate from 0 to about 30. I figured I just need new brakes, as the car has 88,000 miles.
However...I did notice that the parking brake seems to lean a bit to the left or drivers side, and seems bent. Could this be the cause of the grinding sound? If so...how do I fix this?
Thanks SOOOO much for helping out a newbie!

Car was advertised as a "four door sports car". Maybe Nissan did it on purpose for us to do stunts in

So the pictures look completely normal for a Maxima parking brake?
Just asking do to ignorance of these cars as of now.
Thanks so much.
