If it's not a limited slip diff having a tire in snow on the right and traction on the left could yield the results you got. (right tire spins free).

Put on e-brake, Put car in neutral, Jack up the entire front so both tires are off the ground and turn one tire, the other should go in the opposite direction, that'll tell you there is at least a connection between the two even with en open diff.

If that works, SAFELY turn the car on and put in gear. See if both tires spin and have power. Again you should be able to stop one tire and have the other still driving.

Check inflation too, and if all else looks good, check the Alignment.

You sure it isn't torque steer?

I'm in a auto but give it enough gas in snow or icy conditions and it pulls right

I have the same problem. Was thinking about starting a thread.. Maybe still will.

Give it gas and it pulls to the right.

Replaced in actual order-

Tie rod ends
Alignment
Tires
Control arms
KYB Struts
Alignment(again)

I have energy suspension swaybar bushings.. Thought they were too tight on the bar so...

Disconnected both sway bar links and test drove(found one loose when I was taking them off)-nothing
Reconnected links- nothing

Took strut bar off, no difference..
Kicked myself in the nuts.. No difference

Help!

Not in my case. Pulls right no matter what the road does.

To check to see if you have HLSD, it is on the ID plate on the firewall.

Trans Axle code for 6sp HLSD is RS6F51H...and RS6F51A for non-HLSD.

check your cv axles.

I never noticed any torque steer in my maxima ( 02 ). I thought the design of the right side cv axle eliminated the torque steer? back when I had my contour SVT it had tons of torque steer..

If you have an open dif car it will do exactly what you're describing. It will send power to the wheel with the LEAST traction. Combine that with the high torque these cars make at low RPM and it makes for a traction nightmare. Given equal traction it will still spin the right wheel first. If you put the left wheel on snow and the right on dry pavement you'll see the left wheel spin.

Mine was the same way before I swapped in a tranny with LSD. It would jerk to the right if I punched it on a slick wet road. I'm sure it's even worse in the snow.

Find a used HLSD tranny from a junk yard and do a swap. It's not as heavy a job as it seems and all the parts swap directly over.

I did it years ago and it totally transformed the car. The traction on wet or dry is far better and no jerking around. The cornering is also much improved. I can give it a lot more power through the corners in any conditions. I have a fair amount of mods on my car but if I could only do one it would be the HLSD.

I think Nissan really dropped the ball by not making HLSD standard on these cars. At least on the 6MT cars. I believe it was <$400 add if you bought the car new with it.
