New struts seem odd

Hi all,

Just stated installing a new set of KYB Gr-2 (excel g) struts on the front of my max.

I tried to compress the struts by hand, just for the hell of it, when I got them out of their boxes.

The Left strut is almost impossible to compress by hand, while the right strut can be compresssed by hand with significant force... I'd say 80-100lbs or so... but then quickly extends back to full-extension.

Is this normal, or is one of these bad?

Since they been tossed around during shipping....kyb instructs a proper procedure to bleed them properly....follow it if one reacts different then normal (per the instruction) then it's safe to assume it's defective....

Thanks for the info. I didn't see anything about bleeding the struts on the paperwork that came with them... do you have a link by chance?

If it's no visible fluid leaking there's really no issue!
