Do you warm up your car ?
Do you warm up your car ?
Hey everyone, I tried searching but couldn't find much. Every time I start it up I wait for it to at least warm up to the first line on the temp gauge and at least 950 rpms. Anyone else do this too? Positives or negatives?
I typically don't care about the cabin comfort unless the weather is extreme. I do this solely for health of the engine. Its mostly to ensure the engine isn't put under too much load without the oil properly circulating. Something about starting it and just taking off when the engine isn't warm that freaks me out lol

Since I bought it I only use castrol gtx 5w-30 , thinking about switching to the high mileage though and only buying k&n filters. And good stuff, I think I'll only wait for 1100 rpms since I pike to make sure it's lubed up in there, just my ocd like need.

Why? Mine's been fine with 5w30 and car has seen -20*c and below freezing temperatures for over a month... No excessive oil consumption after about 800 km
