lower control arm question

I was installing the E.S. bushings on my lower control arms today and noticed that the hole where the sway bar link connects wasn't a regular hole but an elongated hole.

i only noticed it cause it was loose on the control arm end on the driver side.

That's more like a statement rather,not a question!!

But if you're asking if it's normal than the answer is yes..!!!

My sway bar link doesn't have an elongated hole. I'm not sure what bushing you're talking about since sway bar link do not have replaceable bushing.

you must have read it too fast. I changed out the LCA bushing but noticed that the hole for the sway bar linkage is long instead of a circle.

Sounds like over time loose or worn end links have elongated the hole vertically. Not a big deal as long as the end links can be tightened and do not become loose overtime. If they do loosen several times after you have tightened them more then once or repeatedly, you'll have to get really creative to secure it or just replace the lca. My .02.
