I always like to use a terry cloth and citrus degreaser. It costs just a few bucks for a spray bottle at the auto store a d cleans just about anything. Eats grime away too. Safe to use on most things.

Mr. Motor motorcycle wash from the local Cycle Gear or the like. This stuff is bar none the absolute best at washing, degreasing, and it leaves no streaks or residue. It's 23 bucks a gallon, but you get what you pay for.

How safe is this stuff enviroment wise? Also is it driveway safe? Im looking for a good cleaner for the engine bay since the last stuff i used left stains on my driveway, and proceeded to run down and kill a couple of shrubs at the end since my driveway is on a slight incline.

The engine bay did look cleaner than it did before though.

Simple green is safe stuff, but keep in mind that the grease and dirt run off will stain if you don't rinse off the pavement.

I have used Simple Green many times successfully. The radiator on my 98 blew up once and it was not that hard to clean up. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat as OP; busted radiator barfed coolant all over the place. It should come off easily but will require some time and patience to clean every nook and cranny.

It is just fine. Look it up....it is made by VPracing Fuels. I wash my Z06 corvette engine bay with it, and it is detailed and polished Procharger, NO streaks or staining. Simple Green is OK, but nowhere near what this stuff is. Buy 1 gallon, and dilute it 1/2. It will last you a year. Also, the spot in my yard.....I live on an acre......where my son washes the dirtbikes, is just fine. No dead grass or nada.

We were at the motocross riding our bikes, and there was a guy washing muddy dirtbikes for 10 bucks. Anybody that has had to get the muck out of there dirtbike knows that it sucks. That dude sprayed my bike with this magical stuff, hit it with a low powered pressure washer, and viola....my dirtbike was new again. I ran and bought some. It freaking works.

Purple Power Citrus Degreaser. 1.99.
Environmentally safe and biodegradable. Made from natural citrus.

Makes your engine bay, or whatever you clean look great and smell like oranges.

How about for newer engine bays? Seems like there's enough electrical components around that you wouldn't wanna be forcing water at it in case some gets into anything electrical.

Anybody use air pressure? I was thinking of grabbing one of those computer cleaning pressurized bottles of air and spraying down the corners and areas I couldn't reach with my hand. And then wiping down all the big stuff.
