2000 maxima OEM ignition coils.

I changed my ignition coils with Intermotor brand coils this weekend. I immediately got a SES light and returned the coils. I found the maxima forum which said that I had to use OEM COILS ONLY. Well I called a Nissan dealership and was told they only sale hitachi. I don't see hitachi listed as OEM in the forum. Can anyone assure me that hitachi brand coils are oem??

Hitachi makes the OE coils. you can get them for cheap from rockauto.com

you can also order them from advance auto parts on their website. they have awesome coupons like $50 off $125 purchase etc. just google "techbargains advance auto coupons" and see which one is cheaper. last I check they were around 35-45 each. dealer probably charges 200 each

you will need 3 for fronts and 3 for the back. they are different

Yep, just get the Hitachi coils. This would also be a good time to replace the spark plugs if you haven't done so already.

Agreed with everyone else. Hitachi is the OEM brand.

If it were me, I would try to get the most recent model as opposed to merely replacing the old coil with the same one simply because some of the original model ignition coils (224482Y000 and 224482Y005, I think...) have crapped out on me multiple times when I have replaced them.
