rough idle and defective 02 sensor
rough idle and defective 02 sensor
Ok where do i start....my car had a check engine light so i got it checked and it said it was a upstream o2 sensor was gonna buy it from the auto store till i found out how expensive it was 114$ so i thought i could save money and buy it online which i did found a bosche oem one for 58$ part number 13968 looked exactly like the one i had one the car had the blue clip and everything so we go to change it and once we put it on the car started to idle really rough it idle hard before occasionally at a dead stop but this one was twice as worse it sounded like it was hiccuping we immediately switched to the other old one and the idle is still hard so i went back to auto zone for the second time keep this in mind the problem just happened today i went to the auto store for the check engine light for the first time 2 weeks ago so i had them check it and a bunch of misfire codes came up that it was o2 sensor bank 1 and now its bank 2 also and something with the fuel injectors i know the fuel injector was going to pop up because we just replaced the fuel filter and the guy sayed they might just be dirty so i boughy sea foam and poored the bottle in it idle a littls better then we found out my air filter was loose -____- tightened it down and made a significant difference but i know theres still something off do i have a vacume leak? Or Can the bad 02 sensor be the problem and if it helps i sprayed throttle body cleaner on the intake manifold the part that connects before the throttle body and the rpm shot up a little sorry so there is a small leak sorry this is so long just trying to be as specific as possible I'll upload a pic of the 02 sensor i bought oh and my car has obx headers the previous owner put it on so it looks like he had to rewire them now all for are lined up at like the cylinder head in front of the engine
Would have helped if you had some paragraphs.
How much seafoam did you use? When you pulled the codes, was it a random misfire (p0300) or was it a specific cylinder (p030X). Lost of details required.

Yea sorry haha i used 1 bottle and yes it said it through off a misfore code it mentioned something about the injectors but i think that was a false reading because we just the fuel filter and had to unplug all the lines etc so maybe it through off a code
The O2 sensors wired up at the crank case are O2 simulators for your secondary O2 sensors on bank 1 and bank 2. This is done to prevent any engine codes from the aftermarket head install since it deletes your pre-cats. The roughness in idle and running could be a vacuum leak, but we really need the specific engine code numbers (probably more than one) they pull when reading. Those numbers can tell you down to the cylinder which is misfiring and if there are any other issues.
