I put some 350z 18" Anniversary wheels on yesterday.
8s in the front and 8.5s in the rear
215/40/18 on the front and 225/40/18 in the rear (Hankook Evo2 tires were on the wheels when I got em)
I was initially going to swap the tires off the rear wheels and run the 225s in the front and then buy some 235s for the rear... then unload the 215s... (the tires and damn near brand new)...
But the slight stretch doesn't look too bad.
So anyway I like the wheels a lot, but wanna modify the set-up a bit.
I already had Megan Racing 15 way adjustables on the car. Whatever setting they come is what I left as far as how much I'm lowered.
I want to lower a bit more to close up the gap a bit.
I think the fronts are flush enough for my liking, but I want the stick the rears out a little more. I have searched like crazy thinking someone must have put spacers on these wheels on a 5th gen before...but found nada.
What spacers would you run to get the rear wheels flush without issues? I never have anyone in the back seats so that should not be an issue. I am thinking 15mm but to be honest that is a guess... and I don't wanna guess...
If you have a framing square, you can determine the amount of clearance from the wheel/tire to the rear fender lip to see what size spacer you can run back there.
So I ended up putting the 225 tires on the front, buying 235s for the rear, and putting on 15mm rear spacers. Also dropped the front a tad more than it already was...
Drove it a few days like that and the rear tires would hit on bigger bumps....
Well, I had to get that nasty rust repaired around the rear wheel wells, so I figured let me do that first then see about fender rolling...
So I explained my situation to the body shop, and they fixed the rust and also fabbed up the new metal pieces around the wheels to have a nice, smooth (not sharp) lipless rear wheel well... so today I drove it home (and drove it hard to ensure the wheels were clearing)... and it seems fine...
I have the same rims as you do on my black 2K SE, 8 in front 225/45/18 and 8.5 in rear 245/40/18 with rolled fenders in the rear. No spacers. It only rubs when I have passenger in the back while hitting dips on the freeway. Besides that, I have no other issues. I am on Tokico Blues with a Pro-Kit. I went taller in the front to match the stock diameter 17" so I don't have to guess if I am really traveling the speed it is it reading. Looking good.
