slow start issue

02 maxima 134k auto
My wifes maxima has developed a very slow start as of late.I have recently replaced
2 of the 02 sensors
New battery
New delphi fuel pump and filter
Both bank cam sensors
The oils thing lol ( by the oil cap)
Vias solenoid
I have not done the crankshaft sensor.
When I did the pump it came with a small liece of rubber hose. I didn't use it as I didn't know what ot was for.

Please help! I'm taking it to the dealer in 2 weeks when I leave for vacation. I'd love to avoid this if possible.

You are correct. I have searched and read so many threads. Most point to the cam sensors or occasiinaly the fuel pump. I've done both!

Check your grounds. Some people have had success with added a ground wire kit.

Those are usually a no start if either isn't working. Not a slow start.

Check fuel pressure regulator. Forgot about that..:

Check the factory service manual. Link is below...look in the FE (fuel, exhaust) section.

I'm not sure there's anything you can do to check it's working properly. The link above to the FE section doesn't outline any troubleshooting steps. The part is not that expensive and if you're going into the gas tank I'd just replace it. It's a relatively easy thing to do. I had a similar issue that was solved by replace the FPR.

Really? That's odd...usually you can check with a fuel pressure tester. Pressure into the FPR and then pressure out of the FPR. But...if its a cheap part then yeah maybe just replace it.

It's inside the fuel tank as part of the fuel filter housing. Accessible by removing the rear seats. Look at the FE section that foodmanry linked to. The process is rather simple. If you've already replaced the fuel filter than you've basically gone through the process already.

There's also an o-ring and a clip I'd recommend replacing as well. Along with the larger o-ring for the whole assembly that's in the tank.

You can find them all here...
