Please recommend OBD2 scanner

Hello,

I want to purchase an OBD 2 scanner that can read/diagnose/clear ABS/SRS codes in addition to the OBD 2 engine codes.

Can anyone recommend one that can do this with a 2000 and 2003 Nissan Maxima?

Sorry, I should've been a bit more specific. I'm looking for more of an affordable scanner.

Maybe in the sub $350 range.

Oh, the ELM327 OBD II scanner is very popular

Thank you for your response. Can that read ABS and SRS codes?

I do use, and I do recommend the Actron CP9125
Amazon.com: Actron CP9125 PocketScan Code Reader: Automotive Amazon.com: Actron CP9125 PocketScan Code Reader: Automotive
. It should also read your ABS DTCs (see the description).

One possibility of a scanner that fits in your price range has been discussed, here:

I use a bluetooth scanner like this http://amzn.to/1P8nR7M I pair it with my android phone and use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...g.prowl.torque for pulling / wiping codes as well as doing live diagnostics.

I do the same thing but use car gauge pro. I even advanced my timing with it.

Search on Amazon for: BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices

Use it with Car Gauge Pro app. Works fine on my 2001 with no problems with connecting thru bluetooth. The BAFX is the preferred choice from the app developer of Car Gauge Pro. But he did say his app will definitely work for 2001-2007 Nissan. Not sure about your 2000. Just try it, he'll refund you if your not satisfied.

You'll have access with anything a $150 OBDii scanner would do for under $20.

The ELM 27 will work with a 2000 and 2003 max, I know this as fact. The only difference a much newer car makes in my experience is that newer car computers seem to refresh data faster, and have more data points on the car that can be monitored. Also, if you have a Android phone you can get the Bluetooth version of the ELM27, but if you have an iPhone you must use the WI-FI version of the same ELM27 (Apple restricts their Bluetooth software). Don't know of any apps or "cheap" OBD2's that can read ABS codes though. Had my ELM 27 with an iPhone for over 2 years and it's one of those items that for $20 has paid for itself time and time again.
