'02 headlights

What's up people. Not sure if I posted this in here before, but I'm stuck. My headlights work, however when I put the light control stick to the parking light position, the low beams come on. When I put the stick to auto or on position, only high beams turn on.

I have am '02, but the previous owners put a '00-'01 front of it and had to hack into the wires. I'm trying to get it back to stock, but not sure how or what I should be looking at or looking for. Any type of advice would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Well, this will be fun. First of all, do you have the 00-01 headlights or the 02-03 headlights? The wiring is quite a bit different. I hope you are comfortable cutting and splicing wires.

Here is a link to a thread on how to put 02-03 headlights in a 00-01 car, the exact opposite of what I suspect you have. It will give you an idea of what kind of a job you are looking at.

Hey, thanks for your response. I found tunermax thread not too long after posting this and I also found a link for the fsm and downloaded it. With those two pieces of info, I figured out my problem....and I wanted to smack myself cause it was so simple!

I did have the 00-01 headlights on the car so I have the h2c(I believe that's what it's called) connector with the three prongs. After looking through the fsm, I learned the red/yellow wire is for the parking light. The previous owners had that connected to the prong for low beams.

The solution to my problem, run that red/yellow wire directly to the parking lamp, the wire from the car that was connected to the wire from high beam prong on h2c I swapped to the low beam prong and taped off the wire from the unused prong. I hope that wasn't too cunfusing!!

Took me literally forever to figure it out, but lights are working as they are designed to now!
