2000 Maxima with slow clock since birth

Anyone have a 2000 Maxima with a slow clock. I am the original owner with 212K miles and the clock has always run fast, since the beginning. Maybe3 a minute or two fast every month. Since I discovered this forum, I figured I would ask the rest of you. Thanks, Dave

Time slows down as you approach the speed of light. Maximas are just THAT FAST.

It seems like all quartz clocks in cars run fast like that.

I've always guessed it had something to do with either 12 volts not being ideal for quartz or maybe the fluctuation in voltage that regular clocks don't have t deal with. If they can't get it perfect it's better to run fast than behind for most people.

As I said, these are just guesses as I've never really looked into it.

Well, the clock in my car (2000 SE) runs fast. This is more annoying than a slow clock because the clock does not allow "backwards adjustment"- you have to go forwards by 23 hrs and 55 mins ..... .

The clock in my 2000 ran fast for 15 years. I finally had to get rid of it, it was driving me crazy. Just kidding. Although I did get rid of it for other reasons. I just subtracted a few minutes from the actual time and when it got more than 5 minutes fast I would reset it.
In the big scheme of things, especially with Maxima's, it's a minor inconvenience.

In the GXE there was a button for hours and a button for minutes so you didn't have to go through 24 hours to reset. Just 60 minutes and it went pretty fast.

Weird but my 03 does the same thing. I thought I was just getting old and senile so I never posted a question about it.

Odd...I never had a problem with my clock in my 2k when I had it. It was spot on with my cell phone. Only ran fast when my wife was driving and would set the time ahead by 10 minutes to try and "fool herself"...that never really worked.

The clock in my 2000 is off by maybe 2 or 3 minutes when I change it because of daylight savings time. Since it isn't that much, I am not concerned about it.
