The only good oil penzoil has lol.

What are you changing it at? With a quality filter and mixed driving, I bet you can go like 8k miles depending on how often you let her rip. Probably more all highway and depending on how you have to top up.

I'm too lazy to get it done. I just change it early, usually. Going with 6k on my 5.7 swap with mobil 0w40, for now (of course, I redline and do highway pulls all the time). I think I have some german castrol 40 weight laying around

I think the recommended is 3,700, but I'm going to do an even 4,000 this time. (may 4th it was done at)
Last change I think it was 5,000 though.

My guess is they're going to recommend like 7,000 or something, maybe not? Who knows.

It's 30 bux from blackstone.
u should get it done next change, just cuz why not.
6k is kinda up there especially racing around.
I used to do it it on my bmw every month cuz the oil got so black.

4 or 5k is really low. You can do 5k on castrol synblend easily.

With how the VQ is I bet 40 weight (or GC 30) would yield better results for long OCI.

The oil turning black quickly is usually a result of combustion gases mixing in (some turn dark, but quality oils usually don't for a long time). How much oil do you burn (assuming rings related)?

I have over 5k and the mobil looks like used frying oil. After 10k on my sister's (yes, I went over 10k, it was all hwy) it still wasn't black.

Yeah, she has a 2k1. Sorry, I said "I" b/c I do all the maintenance.

10k recommended on 20 weight... is this ICE miles or total miles? That's a huge difference. But it probably doesn't matter on a 100hp motor that won't be used heavily.

idk what ice miles are but every 10,000 it's changed it barley looks dark.
Only thing that's bad about the prius is the hybrid battery WILL go out and it costs over $4,000.

Actually, they're very easy to fix (last time I researched it). There's several cells and can be swapped out by yourself. You basically just voltage test which ones are bad and replace them. You can fix the battery pack for hundreds.

There are even a few shops that specialize in it and replace the whole thing for like 2,500.
