My 2000 Maxima 5 speed runs great. However a few months back the car idle started dropping a bit too low when I depress the clutch, like everytime I pull up to a red light. The idle drops to about 400 rpm, car acts like it might stall, but doesn't. It jumps back up to 600rpm+ and continues to run normally. Whats going on with the car? So to clarify, the idle is good when the car is statonary and running but drops too low when I push in the clutch everytime I am stopping the car.

 

I would clean IACV and reset idle if that doesn't work.

 

I had the same problem. Got a new OEM MAF sensor and removed the TB to clean it really well on both sides. Reinstalled and did the idle relearn. That worked for me if cleaning the IACV doesn't help you out.

 

Sounds fairly easy. Where is the IACV located? A pic would help if available.

Well, what you are hearing is that you should clean the IACV, or the MAF, or both. I would start with the MAF, for at least two reasons: it's more likely to be the source of your problem, and it's much easier to clean than the IACV.
