Crazy idea!

I have been given a motor out of a nismo 350z and I am toying with the idea of putting it in my 03 Maxima se. How much of a pain would this be and what all should I be considering in this project before I make my decision b just looking for advice and maybe pointers from people who have attempted this swap! Thanks in the advance for any help!

From what I've gathered here, it's not possible since the VQ35HR is built for a RWD application.

I appreciate the response. I was wondering about how that would work BC I know they make awd/rwd conversion kits but I wasn't sure if it would even be feasible but I will most likely just get me a z with a blown motor and work on it from there! Thanks again though

There is a reason when guys need to swap motors or convert their 3rd or 4th gens to the 3.5 that they use either a Maxima or Altima engine.

Not all Z's are HR. In fact the early units were identical to ours sans an IM, oil pan and exhaust manifolds and said "tuning"

This is what you want, http://www.nisformance.com/Articles.asp?ID=252

Don't mess with a Z engine, it's RWD configuration and work to get it converted has no pay-off as close to the link posted above. https://maxima.org/forums/all-motor/...s-lengthy.html

Darren got a new site?

And +1. You want the HR swap. The motors are cheaper, now. It doesn't even make sense to bother with a 6th gen and its timing chain/guide issue.
The power is all
