FC intake installed in Canada

Got the FC intake today and went over to a friend's shop to install it. My impressions are as follows:

1) whoever packaged it (Steve or Matt?) did a great job as everything came in perfect condition.

2) the stock intake on the Max is HUGE!!!

3) the intake is not as loud as I imagined it to be. It's not like a Rustang 5.0 with a cone. It does have a nice bark under WOT, but for the majority of driving (90+%?) it is difficult to tell the difference.

4) gas mileage is going to suck as I like jumping on the throttle alot more now

5) a bracket should have been included to brace the MAF to the strut tower. My friend installs car stereos so he grabbed a piece of radio strap, made the proper bends, coated it with heat shrink and bolted it into place. Works great and there's enough flex in it that if the MAF needed to move slightly, it wouldn't stop it from doing that. Most importantly, I think it will keep the intake from vibrating against the strut tower. I'm not sure this would be a problem without the bracket, but I feel better with it there.

6) the car seems to respond better. Not sure if it's my imagination or not. I'll find out this weekend at the Dyno-fest in Toronto.

START OF EDIT-----------
7) I've made up an 'install book' in pdf format. It's about 700Kb, but very complete with pics. It can be found at http://www.cenpipe.com/~akrusvar/max...ge2install.pdf
END OF EDIT-------------

In the end, good job Steve and Matt. It's a good product. Worth the money, definitely.

Albert

thanks again for that install book akrus, great help. and i packaged it

and the install is slightly different you have to crack open one wire loom and get more slack out of it for the air temp sensor to make it fit. very easy to do, took me 5 minutes to think it up and do it.
