ES Inserts in Aftermarket Engine Mounts?

I've been reading all the threads I can find regarding ES motor mount inserts and I just want to make sure I'm clear on this.

Do the ES inserts fit just as well in aftermarket M/T mounts as they do in OEM mounts? Do most aftermarket mounts have the inside diameter as OEM mounts?

I have a 5.5 gen A/T and only my front mount is electronic. I know that I will need a new M/T mount for the front. I think my rear mount is the same as a M/T mount since it is not electronic.

I am thinking about buying 2 cheap aftermarket M/T mounts and pressing out the guts of them so I can take my time and not have to leave the car on stands the whole time I am working on this.

Thanks

Yes, buy the cheapest mount's you can find and the es inserts than just torch the rubber on the Mt mounts (c'mon it's just fire)

Press in the inserts and be done! I'm sure you won't spend more than $125!

That's what I was hoping to hear.

I think I will still have to press out the inner cylinder, right?

In the same place with my 2000 SE. Since I am going thru the work of rebuilding the front suspension with ES stuff I am going to do the motor mounts too. If I find cheap mounts I will share the links.

Finding them is the easy part. They're everywhere.

Rock Auto:
Front M/T:
  • Westar EM8865 $17.60
  • DEA A7305 $21.79 Some bad reviews on Amazon
  • Anchor 9532 $23.79 Not sure if this is actually for a M/T
Rear M/T:
  • ANCHOR 8866 $20.79
  • B/A 1041607 $40.79
There are tons of them on Ebay.

Search for these part numbers:
  • 11270-40U03 (M/T front)
  • 11320-40U01 (M/T Rear)

The question is which of the cheapos are the best for our purpose.

I'm going through my whole front suspension as well. ES LCA bushings, sway bar bushings and engine mounts. Not sure if I'm going to install the ES cross member (subframe) bushings.

Have you thought about getting some of Knight's Wrayth inserts for the two side mounts? There is currently a group order underway. I think there are at least 3 of us on the list HERE and HERE
