Alright lets talk about axles issues we have here for our 5th gen Maxima. I know I understand it been posted on here multiply times.
First let me introduce my Maxima I drive 01' Nissan Maxima
This photo was taken few days after I drop 1" more in the front.
Second picture is before I dropped her 1" in the front...
Now... I have been low like that for a year and my axle was making a noise for a year without even cv boot ripping yet. However few days ago I've decided to go an inch lower thought wouldn't hurt then next day my cv boot got ripped leaking grease all over my wheelwall. So I took it down to my buddy shop have them replace my passenger axle. He told me that the axle was hitting something that cause axle to ripped apart he said if I raise up back to 1" like above image he said I won't be having a problem hitting the axle.
The thing is... my axle was making a noise ever since I lowered it last year and drove 400 miles to NY for school even during winter season, not a single issue just noise that will be annoying at low speed, parking lot speed but it goes away after 10-15mins driving and at high speed it gone.
I was told that if I stay that low where I dropped 1" more in the front he said I will rip my axle again in end of this month. I was shocked and surprised didn't realize it would affect that.
Now I heard there is some solutions but impossible and expensive custom job worth hassle or not?
1. Camber bolts that gives front -2 degreese
2. lift motor mount higher
3. custom camber arms wield by someone?
4. shorter custom axle possible?
Or not worth of hassle?
I have seen a lot Maxima owners drive slammed low and looks like they don't have axle issues they say they do have to replace almost every year or two. Which is very reasonable and I know that for sure. But what my mechanic guy told me... in end of month for being that low even I have about 1.5in ground clearance.
There's this thing called suspension geometry and if you alter the damn thing, shvt like this happens! But there's a solution! Just get lifetime warranty axles from a local parts store ,enjoy the drop and replace them as needed!
Same problem im having with my maxima, i replaced driver side now my passenger side is spilling grease people said go to napa get the axels with life warranty or a long warranty and just keep replacing them
Also i think when going through bumps the teins hit the sleeve on the axel
I don't have teins anymore I use Megan Ez St Racing coilovers and You mean the coilovers sleeves? That is quite true something like this
Also I never have issue on driver side ever because the driver side axle is much twice shorter than passenger side is from what I see. Because I had to adjust the ride height today raise up like an inch and I noticed the axle on passenger side is little longer and looks bend but it brand new. Now on the driver side axle is straight and is not new.
By sleeve immean rubber boot, my teins dont sit that low where its touching them but when over bumps i do feel like it touches it which is why the boot broke i replaced the driver but it was the inner boot that was broken, while for the passenger its the outer boot, and the bottom of the coilovers have a bunch of grease on it. I will get a picture this week but it definitely isnt sitting that close to the rubber boot as the picture you showed
