2000 Nissan Maxima GXE Odometer and Speedometer Not Working
2000 Nissan Maxima GXE Odometer and Speedometer Not Working
My vehicle has a digital odometer and analog speedometer. The latter stopped working about a week ago. I'm not sure when the former began not working, but I noticed for the first time last night. The speedometer doesn't move at all past zero, and the odometer is bright and displaying, just not advancing no matter how many miles I drive.
I looked in the owner's manual and didn't see any fuses specifically labelled odometer and speedometer. I'm not sure where to go from here. My engine temperature gauge, fuel level gauge, and tachometer all appear to be functioning properly.
Shortly before the speedometer stopped working, my speed sensor, also called a transmission revolution sensor, went bad, and I had read that if that sensor went bad, my speedometer could also stop working. However, I replaced that sensor last night, and my speedometer is still not working.
I've searched online for answers about the odometer and speedometer issues, but other than the transmission revolution sensor possibly affecting the speedometer, I couldn't find any answers. Thank you in advance for any help in diagnosing and fixing the problem.

I am pretty sure your VSS sensor is bad.
