Moog Rear Wheel Bearings

Greetings gents, I've been getting this minor roaring noise coming from my rear wheels that gets louder with acceleration, and i'm leaning towards this being my rear wheel bearings going south.

I'm curious to know if any of you guys have purchase these, and how well they hold up...I have bought other Moog suspension parts that have served me well over the years, and I don't mind paying for quality parts...

That would depend on what bearing it has. I would hope that moog uses a Japanese made bearing, but you know how everyone loves to cheap out, today. There should be a number on the bearing if you go look at one.

$88.53 on amazon with prime

Call up AZ and make sure it comes with the ABS tone ring. Those catalog pictures can be generic and many hubs don't come with the ring attached (or even studs). Hopefully the bearing isn't made in China. Those pieces of junk won't go more than 1 yr.

Rock auto offers the Moog rears for $83 and then find a discount code. The Moog front bearings I just installed are good ones. The diesel mechanic that helped me with pressing them into the hub said they were good ones.

Moog if full Chinese and now has been garbage for several years now, nothing has lasted me more than 6 month after they took their talents to China

Some components are still made in the US, like the tie rod ends for my Honda. But Chinese bearings are a definite no-no.

Moog is now a world wide company. Thus, all of their products are made in various warehouses world wide.

I believe this^^ I personally had a moog outer tie rod end pull apart. The threaded portion that screws into the inner literally pulled itself out. So either it was boxed/labeled wrong or faulty manufacturing is to blame. Either way I blame moog. Luckily I was only going about ten miles an hour making a left turn at a light. Part was a little over a year old. So I have a hard time believing that it want the right part when I put it on being that it was on the car for over a year.

Moog makes two lines of products - regular and problem solver

In my experience, if there is a problem solver version, always use that part as the regular piece is simply a reproduction of the factory part with all of the design flaws still in place.

I think moog has gone Chinese like everyone else, or at least for certain parts. My guys have used moog for years and in recent years noticed in a decline in quality. grant it this isn't specifically the maxima but, many many brands and models of cars over the years with moog options for replacements. it may just depend on the part or the brand of car it's going on.
