Help after replacing MAF sensor

So just swapped out the sensor today. Car runs alot stronger But it's struggling to maintain an idle ( typically low). Is the ecu relearn the next step? Or do I need to be looking at the idle air control ?

Did it have trouble maintaining idle before you replaced MAF? If it did then it would be good to check the idle control, if not then an idle relearn could possibly fix it.

yea it did. Car was not allowing me to shift over 2500 rpms either. I thought for sure it was the MAF screwing up the whole fuel system.. But now I'm wondering if the Idle control is shot too..

So does it as of now not go above 2500 Rpms? Doing a relearn won't hurt, and if that doesn't help it could possibly be the throttle position sensor. Not sure that the idle control would keep you below 2500 rpms.

Sorry that response was confusing. The car is currently running above 2500 Rpms during normal driving again. But it currently isn't holding idle very well. Idling to high then going to normal then dropping in idle really low.

if you have a 02 like you mentioned in another thread you have no iacv, so cross that off the list

Ok, try doing the idle relearn and get back to us. Hopefully thats it or it will be quite a lot harder to diagnose. Some other threads have said if not the MAF it could be an 02 sensor.

reset ecu with pedal dance and see what happens, idle relearn if necessary

If primary O2, unplug it and see what happens if it's still not resolved. If seconday...you better be allotting time to gut precats.

Its showing bank 2 sensor 2. Haven't gotten to the reset yet.. Waiting for wife to get off work. I have to pass emissions though. If I gut the cat will it still pass? They don't check to see if you have a cat though. Its all through the computer
