Anyway, I watched videos on replacing it, but was disappointed to find that they all said remove the radiator or cooling fans, which still requires to pull the upper hose. I hate coolant, but it looks like I can replace it without undoing anything. Hopefully I'll be able to do this job in the summer.
replacing motor mounts are way easier then that. 6 bolts and the whole thing drops in your lap. 2 bolts to the sub-frame, 2 bolts to the core support, and one bolt in each motor mount. I just replaced both of mine very very recently.

He/she is talking about the side mounts. You have to put a jack under the tranny where it attached to the engine right?

I'm pretty sure he is referring to the left side of the engine as he refers to the radiator fans.

Most people that have only worked on transverse mounted engines don't seem to know that the automotive industry has standardized left, right, front and rear as if the engine was mounted for rear wheel drive.

I never heard that the lower mounts cause a clunk.
They discussed it was a
"passenger side engine mount clunk"

After buying the new mount I figured out the space is supposed to be there. It's the way it was designed!
