Manual Tranny fluid

Hey guys,
my '02 owners manual states to use 75-90 gl4 only,
yet the 03' owners manual states either 75-90 gl4 or 75-85.
I'm assuming they are the exact same drivetrains, perhaps Nissan just revised the specs for fluid. If so, I'll go with Nissans OEM,as the 75-90 isnt offered.
02' owners,anyone use the 75-85?

Get some Redline MT-90.
You'll be amazed at how much better it shifts.

Whatever you do just make sure it's GL4 only. Not GL5 or GL4/GL5.
I wouldn't worry about the different specs. It's the same tranny.

GL4/GL5 is fine. GL5 is not. Go to any VW specialist they carry GL4.

Go get Red Line MT-85. It's designed for our transmissions and is the best.

Amazon Amazon

If you're using the OEM fluid from Nissan you're really missing out.
I've gone from MT90 to Nissan oem and back again.

Last time I pulled the tranny I intended to reuse the MT90 that was in it. I ended up spilling it and had to get some GL4 locally. Nissan was the only source. The car shifted like crap until I finally got tired of it and swapped some MT90 back in. All of a sudden my car was happy again.

The MT90 is a little more money but you only need three bottles for the 6-speed. You can even find it on eBay for a good deal. You wont regret it.

The OEM fluid from Nissan is crap. They should be embarrassed to sell it.

Next change I'll use redline.
Did seem a little better on the shifts after the change though.
The oil before wasn't brown or anything, but had a strong smell compared to the new fluid. I'm wondering about that. But since I didn't know which fluid prior was used,I ended up going oem and will go from there.

Any other info you can throw my way, I will gladly accept.
Thanks man
